Invisible teeth aligners have many benefits, including:

Fixed metal dental appliances (dental rings or brackets)

To begin your teeth straightening with fixed metal braces, you will pay a lab fee of €55 for the upper and lower brackets. You will spend an additional €5 to €10 for the wire that connects the brackets. On average, your first fixed metal braces will cost you between $60 and $65.

Fixed metal braces will take 2 to 3 years to straighten your teeth. Unlike invisible teeth aligners that allow for remote monitoring of progress, fixed metal braces will require you to visit the orthodontist's office every month for adjustments.

One thing that separates fixed metal aligners from clear aligners is that metal aligners are extremely visible. This can be a downside for some people.

Accelerated fixed or removable orthodontic appliances

Also known as spring aligners, accelerated braces straighten teeth in 6 months. However, unlike fixed metal braces and invisible teeth aligners, accelerated braces only straighten smile teeth. They are designed to move only the 4 front teeth.

Orthodontists charge €1800 to €3500 for accelerated braces. This cost covers:

It is worth noting that despite spending €1800 to €3500 on accelerated braces, you will not get a detailed finish. Most often, people who use accelerated braces have to invest in clear dental aligners to achieve ideal teeth straightening.

Before investing in accelerated braces, you should confirm whether you will also need clear teeth aligners. If you are using the invisible aligners, your overall cost can be upwards of €1800 to €3500. While some orthodontists include the cost of clear aligners in the initial quoted cost, some charge for clear aligners separately.

Invisible teeth aligners produced by an external manufacturer

Orthodontists with in-house manufacturing facilities are extremely rare. For this reason, most orthodontists rely on the manufacturing capabilities of other brands.

If you work with an orthodontist who uses other brands for the production of Invisible aligners, you should expect to spend between €2500 and €5000 for the straightening of your teeth. In addition to paying the clinic fee, your orthodontist will have to pay the outside manufacturer a lab fee of €1500.

The fact that externally produced clear aligners are more expensive is one of the reasons why orthodontists recommend fixed metal braces. In cases where the orthodontist has an in-house production facility, the cost of clear aligners is affordable enough for each patient.

Lingual orthodontic appliances

Lingual braces are very similar to fixed chin braces. However, instead of the brackets and wires being placed on the front of your teeth, they are placed on the inside of your teeth, facing your tongue.

Sitting behind your teeth, lingual braces are less visible. This benefit comes at a higher price, however - a lingual brace will cost you between €3500 and €9000.

Lingual braces are more expensive for several reasons, including:

They often require specialized training that not all orthodontists have.
They are custom-molded to your teeth using more expensive materials.
Lingual braces can take longer to secure your teeth. More time means more appointments with your orthodontist. Each appointment has its own cost, which can increase your overall cost.
Higher lab fees. On average, orthodontists spend €1000 to €2000 on lab fees. In cases where more complex designs are required, lab fees can be much higher.
